Family Pets

Choco

Choco

Choco, a French bulldog was the first pet painting I tackled. He is the beloved pup of son Jackson and wife Jane. This painting was a gift a few years ago. I painted from a photo taken by Jane.

Snowball

Snowball

Pet painting number two was Snowball, my mother-in-law's favorite poodle from years ago. Alas, we have no photos of Snowball, so my husband found a stock copy internet photo of a French Poodle who he said looks like Snowball, and I placed him on my mother-in-law's carpet.

Jackson and Jane got a new puppy in 2017 and hinted that they wanted a painting to hang with Choco's. They received this one for the holidays. Again, I used a photo taken by Jane, but took liberties with the background and color.

Hollycat

Hollycat

My other son Charles gave his wife Julie their first pet for Christmas in 2016.  Hollycat is named that so as not to confuse her with Julie's mom Holly. Charles and Julie deserved equal time so they received their first pet painting for the next holiday season. (I consider this one unfinished but am not sure Julie will return Hollycat to me for further painting!) This painting was from a photo taken by Julie.
